On the evening of July 4th, Laura with 4 (boy)friends and Martin hiked up Mt. St. Helena (4,344 feet / 1,323 meters) to watch about 20 fireworks throughout the Bay Area, Napa, Lake and Sonoma County.

Between July 7th - 12th Laura, Lisa, Anna and Martin drove from Santa Rosa to Seattle and back.
The first night we spend in Eureka at Bills house.
The next day we stopped at the Redwood National State Park north of Eureka and visited Fern Canyon and the big trees.

In front of one of the largest (tallest) living organisms in the world, a Northern California redwood tree 304 feet (100 m) tall and 21 feet (7 m) in diameter.
On Thursday we visited Portland before driving on to Olympia (sorry, no pictures) our "base" for the next two nights.
On Friday we drove to Seattle. First we went on top of the Space Needle and had a fantastic view.

and then visited the Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum and Pike Place Market (a must see riot).
In the evening we saw our friend Mark in Beauty and the Beast (yes he was the Beast) and had dinner with him afterwards.

On Saturday we stopped again in Portland to go to the worlds largest outdoor Arts and Crafts Market, which was fantastic!!! before we headed back to Santa Rosa with an overnight stop in Redding.
